Gene and I met at a mutual friends wedding. He had a girlfriend at the time but I didn't really care as I was having a good time being single. After Gene and his girlfriend broke up I decided I was going to ask him out as I thought he was so hot!! Gene actually beat me to it and asked me out first. We went out to eat and to a movie. We had a blast!! After about 1 1/2 years of dating Gene proposed. Of course I said yes. Our engagement was a really interesting story. It was around Halloween. My sister and my nieces came over to get me to go trick or treating with them. While I was talking to my sister,Gene had asked me to go down in the
basement and get the box out of the front pocket of his dive bag. I said no you can get it as I am in the middle of a
conversation. He said he could not and ran upstairs. I was a little bit mad because I thought he was being rude. I eventually went down and got the box out of the bag and put it on the stairs for when he came back down. The whole time I was trying to talk to my sister she kept asking what was in the box. I was like who cares. Well she left and I told her I would meet up with her and the girls. I then turned around and wondered where Gene went. He went one way and I went the other and when I turned around he was behind me with the box open and a diamond ring sitting there glaring at me. I was in total shock! I had no idea he was going to ask me to marry him. As a matter of fact he never did! I just said yes I will marry you but he never did ask. I was so happy and we went around our neighborhood and showed everyone the ring. We then got married the September of the next year. It was the most amazing day of my life so far. Gene is a wonderful man. He is so supportive of everything I do. He is definitely my best friend. I can't wait for us to be parents! This is something we have wanted from the start but of course it never happened. I guess this is how God wanted it to be. This is the journey he wants us to take. I also have the best
in laws. They are all great people who are also very supportive.
